Japan's Momiji Nishiya is the youngest gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics

13-year-old Momiji Nishiya has gone from being one of the youngest athletes at the Tokyo Olympics to one of the youngest gold medalists.

The Japanese newspaper (The Japan Times) reported that Nishia, in her first sports appearance, won her first gold medal in skateboarding at the Olympic Games, after defeating her competitor, Raisa Leal of Brazil, and her relatively veteran compatriot, Funa Nakayama.


Nichia finished with 15.26 points to win the gold, and Japan's Funa Nakayama won the bronze with 14.49 points, while Lil won the silver with 14.64.
