Buffon: Nobody knows what Juventus need better than Allegri

Parma goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon praised the Juventus administration's assigning responsibility to coach Massimiliano Allegri during the current period to lead Juve next season.

"I think that Juventus, as a team, has all the qualifications to win the Italian league again," Buffon said, in comments reported by "Sky Sports" Italy.

"It is often talked about disappointment in relation to last year, despite winning the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup," added Buffon.

"No one knows better than Max Allegri what Juventus needs to recover," Buffon said.

Buffon stressed, "But expectations were different, and this feeling of disappointment remains, now they will ask Allegri to win the Italian league and no one knows what Juventus needs to recover like Allegri."

On the brilliance of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci and their role in Italy's crowning of the European Nations Cup "Euro 2020", Buffon said that he was "not surprised" by the veteran players.

Buffon continued: "Chilini and Bonucci are not surprises, they are references. Every self-respecting team needs experience, toughness and certainty from some players."

"For me, Marco Verratti is a hero, and Jorginho is a top-level player, the surprises were undoubtedly Federico Chiesa and Gianluigi Donnarumma," Buffon concluded.

In a related context, Italian club Parma announced that legendary goalkeeper Gigi Buffon had officially joined its ranks in a free transfer deal that would bring the historical star back to his former club, with whom he started his career in 1995.

"I wanted to deliver a message to myself first before anyone else, especially because I know myself well and if I don't invest emotionally I won't perform well," Buffon said at the press conference to present it.

Buffon added: "I thought about the offers I had received for 3 weeks until I woke up one day and told my wife that we were going to Parma and that she had not expected it but that she trusted me and my feelings."
