Abu al-Qasim nominated to carry the Egyptian flag at the opening of the Tokyo Olympics

Alaa Abu Al-Qassem, the Olympic champion who won silver in the London Olympics in the fencing, became a strong candidate for a campaign against Egypt in the opening of the Tokyo Olympics.

Abu al-Qasim entered the candidacy strongly in light of the possibility that this will be the last Olympic session for the player, and with him Ahmed Al-Ahmar, the star of the hand team, who announced his retirement from international play after the Olympic session, in addition to the guidance of the angel of the taekwondo champion in light of calls for the emergence of a female element to represent Egypt at the opening ceremony .


The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, headed by Eng. Hisham Hatab, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Noki Masaki, Ambassador of Japan in Egypt, held a press conference at the sixth in a hotel in Heliopolis, to announce what had been accomplished by the sports federations through the plans that had been developed. Five years ago, I was on my way to qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.


The conference was attended by the boards of directors of various sports federations and some players who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and who are currently in Egypt, where a number of players are outside Egypt to set up external camps before heading to Tokyo to participate in the Olympics finals, in addition to the presence of a number of sports figures from club officials and public and media figures.


The conference witnessed the announcement of the official and sports uniform of the Egyptian mission, in which the mission will participate in the Tokyo Olympics, as well as the presentation of the plans of the sports federations that preceded the preparation of the Tokyo Olympics, and the presentation of what has been accomplished by each federation during the past years until reaching the Tokyo Olympics.
