Oil prices rise, Brent crude records $75.36

Today, oil prices recorded $75.36 a barrel for the global benchmark Brent crude futures contract, and the US West Texas Intermediate crude futures contract registered $73.26 a barrel.

International media reports stated that oil prices in global markets rose for the second day in a row on Thursday, as a result of a more-than-expected drop in US crude oil and gasoline stocks.

Crude oil prices recorded their fourth consecutive weekly gain at the end of trading sessions in the futures markets last Friday, as Brent crude contracts rose by 1.1% compared to the end of the previous week, and US West Texas crude contracts rose by 1%.
