For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, called for empowering and supporting women to participate in the upcoming elections in a manner commensurate with their presence and position in society, calling on the security services to control sites and pages that offend the candidate woman and her presence in the next stage, and to apply legal sanctions against promoters lies and rumors; To maintain the democratic atmosphere for the participants in the elections, especially with regard to women candidates.


Al-Kaabi met with members of the Supreme Committee overseeing the participation of women in the upcoming parliament elections, to discuss the committee's work plan during the next phase and its role in promoting women's political rights, in addition to providing assistance, support and parliamentary advice.


He called for empowering and supporting women to participate in the upcoming elections in proportion to their presence and position in society, considering that caring for women at this stage is very important and contributes to encouraging participation in early elections, as they represent a large percentage of more than 50% of Iraqi society.


He stressed that the committee, in coordination with the House of Representatives, is about to launch a comprehensive strategic plan to support women in the upcoming elections and protect them from illegal behavior that may lead to their exclusion from participation.
