British Ambassador to Baghdad: There will be no stability in Iraq while armed factions remain

The British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hickey, said that the security situation in Iraq is very complicated, noting at the same time that the armed factions threaten the government and the international coalition.

In exclusive statements to Sky News, the British ambassador stressed that it is necessary to hold accountable and prosecute those involved in the attacks on the international coalition, as well as those responsible for the assassinations of activists.

The British ambassador stressed that there will be no stability in Iraq as long as some armed factions remain outside the control of the state.

He added that his country is concerned about Iranian support for armed factions outside the control of the Iraqi state, pointing out at the same time that Iran should support the Iraqi state institutions, not the factions outside the control of the state.
